Combining Focused Learning with Timeless Folktales Promises to Actively Engage Children in Developing Their Social and Emotional Skills

Atlanta, Georgia (August 29, 2021) Today August House, the leading, independent publisher of folktales announced a strategic alliance with Resilience Inc., an innovative learning company based in Tampa, Florida. Resilience will  make August House folktales available to schools using their Social Emotional Learning (SEL) tools.

This spring, Rick Norman’s nostalgic baseball book for kids, Fielder’s Choice, will celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Fielder’s Choice follows the young-adult coming of age story of Jackson “Jax” Fielder, whose unhittable “gooseball” earns him a spot as a pitcher on the St. Louis Browns straight out of high school. 

August House is pleased to partner with the Discovery Learning Alliance (DLA) in order to share our animated folktales with young, emerging readers in Africa.

August House is pleased to announce that Ancient and Epic Tales from Around the World has received a Anne Izard Storytellers’ Choice Award. This unique multicultural anthology presents pivotal episodes from epic tales like Gilgamesh, Beowulf, the Odyssey, and the Ramayana. 

August House is pleased to announce that the Mom’s Choice Awards has selected The Sundown Kid: A Southwestern Shabbat as a Gold Award Recipient for Children’s Picture Books. This award recognizes family-friendly media, products, and services created for children, families and educators.

August House is pleased to announce that Foreword Reviews has selected Ancient and Epic Tales as a finalist for their Annual INDIES Book of the Year Awards for Children’s Books. 

Storytelling World announces Ancient and Epic Tales as one of the 2017 winners for the Storytelling World Resource Awards based on its “story-listener appeal”. Published in April 2016, Ancient and Epic Tales from Around the World has received numerous honors and awards, including a prestigious Parents’ Choice Award. 

The Sundown Kid: A Southwestern Shabbat receives its first award as a Notable Book for Younger Readers.

Released earlier this month, The Sundown Kid: A Southwestern Shabbat, by Barbara Bietz and illustrated by John Kanzler has been recognized by the Sydney Taylor Book Awards committee as a Notable Book for Younger Readers.
