Review Sister Tricksters
Nanette Gabriel L. B. Johnson Elem 05/23/2007

“Highly Recommended ”
Anything Robert San Souci does is a MUST HAVE! Add brother Daniel’s comically realistic paintings that capture the slapstick frenzy of these rollicking females in this title, and they are simply awesome. When stories of Br’er Rabbit and cohorts were circulating through the slaves in the South, another set of stories was being passed along just as enthusiastically, only here the trixsters were female! Anne Virginia Culbertson summed up the exploits of Molly Cottontail, Miz Grasshopper and other fine females by observing, “A woman sees all ‘round and over and underneath and on both sides of a thing, while a man’s just trying to stare plumb through it!” Need I say more?
