Steve is a nationally recognized leader in the development of easy to use, innovative on-line learning products. Currently, he is the CEO and President of August House Publishing, an award winning publisher of children's books and folktales. At August House, he is developing a new model for animating folktales from around the world and making them accessible to schools and families through the internet.

He was one of the co-founders of iXL, an Internet strategic consulting firm and served as a Senior Vice-President. Prior to helping create iXL, Floyd led one of the pioneering interactive development companies, FloyDesign for over a decade. His award winning, creative design team assembled an impressive body of breakthrough work for a number of Fortune 500 companies including IBM, FedEx, Coca-Cola, Chase, and Intel.

Floyd is also a popular speaker at international technology conferences. He has presented a variety of white papers and he is the author of The IBM Multimedia Handbook, published by Simon Schuster.

He holds a Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Technology with an emphasis in Message Design and a Bachelor's Degree in English and Economics both from Indiana University. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Trinity School and is on the Board of the Center for Puppetry Arts.
